How a Spanish blood bank is saving money and increasing safety with RFID technology – Quickly finding the right blood product among 30,000 bags is never an easy task, especially when bar codes have to be scanned manually in a -35°C deep freezer. When a study revealed that RFID would cut costs and increase safety, Spain’s Balearic Islands Blood and Tissue Bank (FBSTIB) turned to Barcelona-based Aifos Solutions for an RFID system, and Salo, Finland’s Nordic ID for handheld readers that would operate in subarctic temperatures.
Nordic ID signed a reseller agreement with Turkish SEDNA Distribution

A Finnish handheld manufacturer Nordic ID has signed a cooperation agreement with SEDNA Distribution to market and to sell Nordic ID handheld readers in Turkey. Nordic ID’s product catalogue, including the new Nordic ID Morphic and the Nordic ID PL3000 –series, both barcode and RFID versions, are covered in the agreement.

Nordic ID and Container Centralen signed a European Cooperation Agreement

Salo, Finland +++ Nordic ID and Container Centralen have signed a cooperation agreement to market and to sell software in the Nordic ID handheld readers to bring the benefits of RFID to the European horticultural industry. This is a part of Container Centralen’s “Operation Chip It”, which is the tagging operation that takes place in the autumn of 2010. All 3.5 million CC Containers must get new tags before the cutoff date: November 1, 2010.
