Nordic ID product End-Of-Life announcement in August 2021 concerning following products:
NORDIC ID RF601 HANDHELD
The Nordic ID RF series is an iconic family of devices, but it’s time to let new platforms take its place.
The old Nordic ID RF601 uses a proprietary Nordic ID wireless communication interface that requires a dedicated wireless network of base stations. No Bluetooth, No WLAN.
Moreover, the Nordic ID RF601 handheld can only read barcode labels, not RFID labels.
In addition, the global component shortage situation and the continuous discontinuation of multiple components used to manufacture the Nordic ID RF601 take us to a situation where, despite of many years of success, we must discontinue it.
